CEO’S QUARTERLY UPDATE – July 2021

Dear Partner,

Here comes the Sun! As the summer season begins, I hope this finds you and yours in good health as we look forward to the gradual re-opening of our borders. I am pleased to report that steady progress is being made as we continue to develop new and exciting products ready to launch as soon as travel restrictions permit.

‘Journey With Purpose’

Our focus is to serve you, our partners better, by adapting a new range of products that have been carefully adapted to conform with the post Covid environment. It’s all about rich experiences in open air spaces, or meeting with local communities, sampling culture or heritage sites in a sustainable manner – This underpins our theme of ‘Journey with Purpose’.

We recently arranged a virtual famtrip with our friends at the Great West Way and were featured in their media launch. As preferred partner with Visit Kent we are looking forward to more virtual meetings and collaborations to showcase the best of Britain and Ireland.

Campaigning for Safe Travels

Lobbying efforts continue at pace, and efforts ramped up a gear as I met with Nigel Huddleston, the British Minister of Tourism, and the French equivalent of UK Inbound in May.

These sessions are important as we push for sector support and the safe re-opening of our borders. The introduction of travel corridors between countries and a refinement of the rules of the ‘traffic light’ system will allow us to return to some level of normalcy in the not too distant future.

As part of my involvement with UK Inbound, we are working to promote the idea that vaccinated travellers should be allowed in the UK. I was also invited to a working group to discuss the impact of Brexit on European school trips. This discussion will lead to a draft strategy to propose ways of overcoming barriers and enable smoother travel.

Slow & Rural Travel – Gathering Momentum

We continue to expand our range of slow and rural tours along with virtual experiences which I am pleased to say, are now listed with several OTAs.

We see virtual experiences as a great ‘bridge’ allowing clients to experience the Best of Britain from the comfort of their own homes. Some of these new products include a cocktail making class from the wilds of a Scottish Forest, Crime stories and cocktails and an etiquette experience with a Royal Butler.

Other highlights since my last update include:

• We will shortly be going live with a new booking system, allowing much greater flexibility in how we transact with you. This will ultimately lead to a faster turnaround time for quotations and a general improvement in our service to you.
• We continue to contract new and exciting bed spaces.
• We are working on providing a Covid test kit for all our clients as part of each booking.
• Expanded our range of FIT products and now in a position to offer City breaks anywhere in Europe.
Lastly, we have a thrilling new VIP event with the Arsenal football club legend Emmanuel Petit and Michelin starred Chef Raymond Blanc, scheduled for November.

Get in touch if you’d like more details!

Client safety remains at the heart of everything we do as we adapt to the new conditions in a post Covid world.

Rest assured that our focus towards your clients’ health and wellbeing is the first consideration in all our products and we are proud to be endorsed in these efforts by Safe Travels and the Good to Go initiatives.

Be well and stay healthy – until the next time.

Yours sincerely,

Emmanuelle Spriet
